Mayor Robert Jackson announced at last night’s Council meeting that Representative Rodney P. Frelinghuysen (NJ-11) presented the Township with an American flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol to mark Montclair’s sesquicentennial.
“I am pleased to know that you will treasure this flag and all that it represents to freedom-loving people around the world,” stated the congressman in his letter to the Mayor. “Please accept my congratulations on reaching this important milestone and my very best wishes for continued success in the years ahead!”
The accompanying certificate states that the flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol at the congressman’s request on February 6, 2018 in honor of Montclair’s 150th anniversary.
