Dr. York Presents at Global Conference on Aging

Dr. Katie York, Montclair Director of Senior Services/Lifelong Montclair, took part in the International Federation on Aging’s 14th annual Global Conference on Aging, held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr. York was a presenter in a symposium titled “Context matters: Age-friendly initiatives across diverse New Jersey communities.”
“The session focused on our work in Montclair as part of the Township’s membership in the World Health Organization and AARP’s Network of Age-Friendly Communities," said Dr. York. “Montclair’s age-friendly action plan was accepted by the network in February, 2018. Montclair first joined the network in 2015.”
Delegates from more than 75 countries participated in the conference which focused on critical issues facing older people today.
The International Federation on Aging is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1973 and based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada working in the field of aging, older persons and aging-related issues such as ageism.
