How old are you?   87

Where were you born?   Paterson, N.J.  I attended public grade school and high school in Paterson.  I went out of state for college and law school.

When did you move to Montclair?   July, 1960

Why did you move to Montclair?  It was midway between where my husband, Jack Nadler, now deceased, worked in Parsippany (at Bell Labs) and I worked in Paterson (at a now defunct law firm).

Are you currently employed?  If so, doing what?  If you had a career, what was it?  I retired from the practice of law when I was 78.  I started my law career in Chicago at Jewish Family Services in the Legal Aid Department.  I returned to New Jersey and started to practice law here in 1958.

What organizations or clubs are you affiliated with or a member of?  I am a member of the Newark Museum (volunteer docent at the Newark Museum, as well) and have been since September, 2010.  I am a member of The Montclair Art Museum, Aging in Montclair, The Metropolitan Opera Guild.

Have you done any volunteer work?  If so, what type and with what organization?  I was a Democratic Committee Woman so long ago that I cannot be precise, but sometime in the 1970s.  I was the Chairwoman of the Montclair Planning Board from January, 1994 to December, 2004 and then continued as a Board Member until December, 2010.

What are some of the most important lessons you feel you have learned throughout your life?  Tough to answer.  Keep going, keep trying, keep smiling, turn the other cheek.  And curb my temper.

What are your plans for future? How does Montclair fit into these plans?  I will finish my six year term on the Rockcliffe Board of Directors in May, 2019.  I will continue my other activities.  I will continue to live in my apartment in Montclair.  I will keep smiling.
