Montclair Township held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, October 4, for the newly-renovated Mountainside Park ball field. Members of Council joined with dozens of kids from the Township's baseball and softball programs to celebrate the opening of the field.
Montclair Community Services hired Let it Grow as the contractor on the project and Suburban Consulting Engineers created the design and were in charge of construction oversight. Renovations include:
- Drainage improvements with an underground pipe collection system
- Replace fencing
- Pave existing and new pathways
- New bleachers
- New batting cage
- Turf infield
- Laid sod on all grass areas
- Installed an irrigation system
Mountainside Park was the site of many competitive softball games when both the men and women’s leagues were at their heights. The new park not will only benefit our junior leagues, but will also re-energize adult league teams.
