Notice from the Township of Montclair:
Ordinance O-21-01 amending Montclair Code Chapter 27 (Noise), Section 6 (Internal Combustion Leaf blowers) is now in effect.
The operation of leaf blowers powered by internal combustion engines is limited in each calendar year to the time period between March 15 and May 15, inclusive, and between October 15 and December 15, inclusive.
The use of internal combustion engine leaf blowers is currently prohibited – they may not be used until October 15.
Those who violate any provision of this ordinance will be subject upon conviction to a fine of not less than $100.00 and not exceeding $2,000.00, imprisonment in the County/Municipal jail for a term not exceeding 90 days, or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days, or any combination of these penalties as determined by the Municipal Court Judge.
The Municipal Clerk’s office sent a notice to all landscapers registered to do business in Montclair.
