Police Blotter: January 4, 2022 – January 11, 2022
Burglary/Theft
January 4, 2022 (The Fairway): An officer sent on a parking complaint on The Fairway discovered that a 2019 Jaguar blocking a resident’s driveway was reported stolen out of Lake Syracuse, New York. The vehicle was impounded and returned to the owner.
January 5, 2022 (Park Street): An employee of Napoli Trattoria and Pizzeria reported surveillance cameras to the business captured a blue van pull up to the rear of the business during off hours and cut the lock off of the used cooking oil drum. The suspects then used a hose to extract the oil from the drum. The vehicle was described as a 2006 Ford Econoline Van. At the time of the report, there was no value of the oil.
January 9, 2022 (Columbus Avenue): The victim reported that he parked his 2017 Mercedes CLS 63 in a Columbus Avenue driveway. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with the key fob inside. When he returned to the car approximately 40 minutes later, he discovered it gone.
The vehicle contained the victim’s wallet and a set of golf clubs.
January 10, 2022 (Park Street): Officers responded to Cadoo Medical on a report of a burglary. An employee reported getting an alert on her ring camera of motion in the building. Upon checking the footage, she observed an unknown person walking through the office. The suspect was described as a tall male with a thin build wearing a New York Mets flat brimmed baseball cap, a dark mask over his nose and mouth, a light-colored tie-dyed hooded sweatshirt, light colored pants and black and white sneakers. At the time of the report, noting was reported missing.
Arrest
January 7, 2022 (Mt Vernon Road): Ms. Laki Taylor (44 years old, Montclair) was charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop.
