Thefts
January 19, 2022 (Claremont Avenue): An employee at CVS Pharmacy reported that two males entered the store within a few minutes of each other. He reported one male filled garbage bags with merchandise and exited the store. The second male concealed unknown store merchandise in his jacket. Both suspects then entered a white Pontiac and fled east on Claremont Avenue.
The first suspect was described as a black male, wearing a green jacket, winter hat (white tag or writing in center), black mask covering from the nose down, black sweatpants, and white sneakers. The second suspect was described as a black male, black or blue sweatshirt, black vest, winter hat (black and white design) gray pompom on top, blue jeans, and white sneakers. At the time of the report, the manager was unable to determine an exact inventory of items taken.
January 23, 2022 (North Mountain Avenue): The owner of a 2017 BMW X5 reported that his vehicle was stolen as he was loading items from his apartment to the car. A witness reported observing a young male in a yellow sweatshirt enter the car and flee north on North Mountain Avenue. The vehicle was recovered later in the day abandoned at the intersection of Broad Street and Lincoln Park in Newark.
January 25, 2022 (Christopher Street): The resident reported her 2020 BMX X6 was stolen from her driveway during the overnight hours. She reported accidently leaving her key fob in the front seat cup holder.
January 25, 2022 (Clinton Avenue): A resident of Clinton Avenue reported that when he woke up, he discovered an unknown vehicle parked in his driveway. The 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander was determined to be a stolen vehicle from Harrison, NJ. Surveillance video shows the vehicle arrive in the driveway at approximately 3:35 AM. There was no description of suspects.
Suspicious Incident
January 19, 2022 (Emerson Place): A resident of Emerson Place reported that she was woken up by her Ring Alert at 3:15 AM. When she looked outside, she saw an unknown person exit a vehicle parked in front of her home and enter her neighbor’s vehicle. They then exited and fled back to the awaiting vehicle.
January 19, 2022 (Buckingham Road): A resident reported checking her Ring App footage from overnight and observing a male walking up her driveway and attempting to enter her 2022 Land Rover. The vehicle was locked and the male, described as only wearing a grey sweatshirt, is seen running to a car waiting on the street. Entry into the vehicle was unsuccessful.
