Police Blotter: April 12, 2022 – April 19, 2022
Theft
April 12, 2022 (Orange Road): The complainant reported that at 8:12 AM she observed a male enter onto her property and remove a package from her porch that had been delivered earlier in the day. The package contained approximately $85.00 worth of clothing.
April 18, 2022 (Watchung Avenue): An anonymous resident reported the theft of an American Flag from Watchung Plaza. The complainant stated that they saw a video on Instagram of the suspects removing the flag from the flag pole.
Motor Vehicle Crime
April 12, 2022 (Greenview Way): A resident of Greenview Way reported observing a black male exit a black SUV and walk up her driveway. The male then entered her vehicle that was parked in her driveway. The complainant yelled to the suspect who ran back to the black SUV and fled north on Greenview Way.
April 12, 2022 (Orange Road): The victim reported that his catalytic converter had been stolen from his 2000 Honda CRV. The incident reportedly occurred between April 6, 2022 and April 7, 2022.
April 13, 2022 (Claremont Avenue): The complainant reported that her vehicle was entered during the overnight hours. The vehicle was rummaged through and a pair of sunglasses were stolen.
April 13, 2022 (Highland Avenue): The resident reported that his home surveillance alerted him to an unknown male in his driveway entering his 2019 Range Rover. The male then retreated to an awaiting white Jeep Cherokee and fled north on Highland Avenue.
April 13, 2022 (Valley Road): The complainant reported observing two males exit a dark-colored BMW SUV in the Valley Road Parking Lot and approach a Porsche SUV which was parked.
The Porsche was locked so they were unable to make entry. The BMW fled east on Bloomfield Avenue. It was observed fleeing by patrol units. The BMW was reported stolen out of Fort Lee.
April 14, 2022 (Upper Mountain Avenue): The resident reported that two unknown suspects opened the gate to his property and entered his unlocked vehicle. Nothing was reported missing. The suspects fled north on Upper Mountain Avenue in an SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer.
