Police Blotter: October 18, 2022 – October 25, 2022

Motor Vehicle Crime

October 18, 2022 (Lincoln Street): The victim reported that his truck was entered while he was working at a Lincoln Street residence. The suspect was captured on home surveillance and is described as a male wearing jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt inside of a black puffy/bubble jacket, wearing a baseball cap. The victim is missing his house keys, $10.00 in cash, and approximately $40.00 in tools.

October 22, 2022 (Amelia Street): The resident reported that at 1:46AM, his rear security camera captured two individuals dressed in masks and dark clothing, running up his driveway and entering his vehicles. The only reported item missing was a pair of black military style gloves.

October 25, 2022 (Lexington Avenue): A 2011 Kia Sportage was stolen from a driveway on Lexington Avenue. A second vehicle parked in the driveway had been entered and contained the key to the Kia.

Burglary / Theft

October 21, 2022 (North Mountain Avenue): The victim reported that his son’s Mongoose bicycle valued at $150.00 was stolen from Anderson Park. It was reportedly locked to a bush.

October 21, 2022 (Buckingham Road): The resident reported that her home was burglarized between October 18, 2022 and October 21, 2022 while she was away. It is unknown how entry was made as it did not appear to have been forced. The second floor bedrooms were ransacked and an undetermined amount of jewelry was taken.

October 24, 2022 (Undercliff Road): The resident called 911 reporting two individuals attempting to gain entry into his vehicles and residence. The resident was alerted to the attempt by his home surveillance. The suspects were described as a black male wearing a black sweatshirt with white lettering on the back, black facemask, with red and white gloves. The second suspect was a male wearing a light colored sweatshirt. They attempted to enter three of the homeowner’s vehicles however they were all locked and entry was unsuccessful. The suspects then attempted to enter the residence however the doors were also locked. The suspects then fled to an awaiting silver SUV and fled the area.

Arrests

October 20, 2022 (Crestmont Road): A 38-year-old female from Newark was arrested on open warrants out of Newark and the Essex County Sheriffs Department.

October 21, 2022 (Church Street): A 40-year-old male from Orange, NJ was charged with Disorderly Conduct following a dispute on Church Street.
