Police Blotter: November 1, 2022 – November 8, 2022
Theft
November 1, 2022 (Valley Road): Patrol responded to the Kings Supermarket on a report of a shoplifting. Employees reported two suspects entered the store and stole approximately $300.00 worth of laundry detergent. The suspects fled in a 2008 Ford Econoline Van, which was reported stolen out of Irvington. Responding officers located the vehicle however, it fled when officers attempted to stop it. The suspects were described as a black male wearing dark clothing and a black female with dreadlocks wearing all dark clothing.
November 4, 2022 (Munn Street): The Pastor at Immaculate Conception Church reported that the church mailbox was vandalized and church mail weas stolen. This was the second such incident in two weeks. The mail stolen included checks.
Suspicious Person
November 4, 2022 (Wildwood Avenue): The resident reported that their home surveillance system captured an unknown male walking on his property at approximately 11:50 PM. The vehicles in the resident’s driveway were locked and therefore untampered with. The suspect was described as a black male with dark facial hair, approximately 5'7” - 5'11” tall, wearing a dark colored jacket, blue pants, dark colored gloves, white sneakers, and a light-colored hood.
November 5, 2022 (Bellegrove Drive): The resident reported that their home surveillance system captured an unknown person walking down the drive and walking up to their back door and attempting to look inside. The suspect walks up to the back door, squats down, looks into the residence and the proceeded to walk back down the driveway and away from house, ultimately fleeing in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, with hood up, black backpack, light colored shoes, and blue jeans.
Arrests
November 3, 2022 (Bloomfield Avenue): The complainant reported that he pulled into the Exxon gas station to purchase gas. An unknown male approached his vehicle, claiming that he worked at the gas station. The complainant handed the male $20.00 at which point the male fled the scene on foot. Patrol located the suspect, a 32-year-old male from Montclair. He was charged with Theft by Deception.
November 6, 2022 (Bloomfield Avenue): A 57-year-old male from Union was charged with Shoplifting approximately $1100.00 worth of merchandise from CVS.
