Police Blotter March 9, 2021 – March 16, 2021

Theft

March 12, 2021 (Warman Street): The complainant reported that $500.00 in cash was removed from her purse. She believes a passenger in her vehicle was responsible for the theft.
March 12, 2021 (Walnut Street): Management at Panzano Pizzeria reported a theft of cooking oil from their exterior oil containers. At the time of the report, the amount and value of the oil was still being determined.

Burglary / Attempted Burglar

March 12, 2021 (North Mountain Avenue): The resident reported that an unsecured shed in the rear of their property was entered. Missing at this time was an adult sized, gray, "Roll Sport" bicycle with black handle bars and a black basket on the front handlebars. The bicycle was purchased for $469.10.

March 15, 2021 (Park Street): The complainant reported that he arrived to his office and discovered pry marks on his office door. Entry did not appear to have been gained. The incident reportedly occurred between 3 PM March 13, 2021 and 3 PM March 15, 2021.

Suspicious Activity

March 11, 2021 (Central Avenue): The resident reported that he observed an unknown person taking pictures of juvenile children while they were playing outside. The resident reported that he was in the front of his residence tending to his lawn while his daughter and her friend were playing in the driveway. The juveniles reported that they observed a male walk north on Central Avenue and pass their house. The suspect then turned around and walked south towards their house and stopped in the street right in front of their driveway. The subject then appeared to take pictures with his phone of the juveniles, then started to slowly jog north on Central Avenue towards Edgemont Park. The suspect never spoke to them or made any motions towards them.

The suspect was described as a white male, 40-60 years old, thin build, wearing a black short sleeve jean jacket, a black V-neck shirt under the jacket, a black bandana on top of his head, black pants and black shoes.

March 13, 2021 (Bellevue Avenue): The resident reported that while inside of his residence, he heard a loud “thud” at his front door followed by the voice of a male. Upon investigating, he did not observe anybody but did notice a clip on the storm door ($10.00 value) was damaged.

Arrests

March 14, 2021 (Claremont Avenue): Chaz Burnett (22 y/o, Glen Ridge) was charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop.

March 15, 2021 (Claremont Avenue): Raymond Reid (73 y/o, The Villages, FL) was charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop.
