Police Blotter: June 7, 2022 – June 14, 2022

Theft

June 8, 2022 (Tichenor Place): The complainant reported that his daughter’s 2022 Stamper Youth Mountain Bike GT 24" color Aqua, was stolen from in front of his residence between 2:00 PM and 2:15 PM. The bicycle was valued at $419.00.

June 9, 2022 (Grove Street): The employees of Grove Liquors reported that an unknown male entered the store at approximately 8:30 PM and removed a wine cooler bottle. The male exited the store without making payment. The employee followed the male outside and confronted him at which time the suspect threw the bottle onto the ground, causing it to shatter. A verbal argument ensued and the employee believes that the suspect brandished a knife during the argument. The suspect was described as a tall black male with red hair, wearing a green jacket, jean shorts, and a red hat.

June 10, 2022 (North Fullerton Avenue): The complainant reported that his Coleman gas powered motor bike was stolen from behind the Skate Park at Rand Park. The bike was reportedly locked and the lock was cut off. The bike was valued at $700.00.

June 11, 2022 (Watchung Avenue): The attendant at Zeus Automotive reported that a white Mercedes SUV occupied by two black males entered the gas station and requested the tank to be filled. Afterwards, the vehicle fled with the nozzle still attached and without making payment. The vehicle was reported stolen from Kings Village, New York. The amount of gas stolen was approximately $68.00.

June 13, 2022 (Bloomfield Avenue): An employee of Car Care Carwash reported that after a black Kia sedan went through the carwash, the driver entered the vehicle and fled without making payment. The employee said this was the second time the same vehicle did this. It reportedly had “unclear plates”.

Motor Vehicle Crime / Suspicious Incident

June 8, 2022 (Bloomfield Avenue): The victim reported that her 2004 grey Saab was stolen from Bloomfield Avenue. The victim believes she left her key fob inside. It was recovered on June 10, 2022, unoccupied, in Newark.

June 10, 2022 (Cooper Avenue): The victim reported that a 2022 BMW X5 was stolen from his driveway at approximately 5:45 PM. The key fob was reportedly left inside of the vehicle.

June 11, 2022 (Clarewill Avenue): The victim reported that he was sitting inside of his 2015 Porsche which was parked in his girlfriend’s driveway. A dark colored BMW 5 series pulled up alongside the driveway and blocked him in. Two individuals wearing ski masks and gloves exited the rear of the BMW and approached the Porsche. When they saw that it was occupied, they ran back to the BMW and fled west towards Park Street.

June 11, 2022 (Lloyd Road): The resident reported that she was in her backyard when she observed a black male, dark complexion, dark shirt, dark pants, and black mask entered her property from the shrubs and approached her Mercedes GLS wagon. The suspect entered the vehicle but was unable to start it. He was seen fleeing towards an awaiting vehicle near Hoburg Place.

Lewdness

June 9, 2022 (Wilde Place): The victim reported that she was walking north on Wilde Place when she observed an unknown male emerge from the bush and walk towards her. The male was holding a shirt in his hands and as he approached her, he moved the shirt, exposing his penis. The victim stated that she continued walking towards Union Street and never looked back to see where the suspect went. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 50 years of age, 5’04” tall, with a short haircut/fade. He reportedly had no facial hair, no glasses, or tattoos. He was said to have “old acne scars” and was wearing a bright blue shirt with white writing on the back, and khaki dark beige pants. Burglary

June 14, 2022 (Grove Street): At approximately 3:16 AM, patrol was dispatched to Grove Pharmacy on a report of an activated audible alarm. Responding officers observed the front door had been shattered. Additional units arrived and searched the interior of the pharmacy. No suspects were located inside. The cash trays had been removed from the registers, and cash was observed on the floor beneath the registers. A cabinet containing prescription drugs also appeared to have been tampered with with a large quantity of pills removed. Surveillance video shows a dark colored vehicle traveling north on Grove Street pull up in front of the pharmacy. Three subjects exit the vehicle. One subject used a sledge hammer to make entry into the business. Once inside, the subjects used a crowbar to make entry into the registers and drug cabinet. They then flee the store and enter the awaiting vehicle which makes a U-Turn and heads south on Grove Street. Anyone with information can contact Detective Tyler Manley at (973) 509-4722.

Arrests

June 11, 2022 (Bloomfield Avenue): A 32-year-old male from Montclair was charged with Disorderly Conduct following a disturbance on Bloomfield Avenue.

June 12, 2022 (Claremont Avenue): A 39-year-old male from Montclair was charged with Shoplifting from CVS Pharmacy.
