Police Blotter: November 15, 2022 – November 21, 2022
Theft
November 16, 2022 (Claremont Avenue): The complainant reported that several packages that had been delivered to his home were stolen. Surveillance depicts a white female wearing a black hat and a surgical mask removing the packages.
Motor Vehicle Crime
November 17, 2022 (Elm Street): The complainant reported that the front passenger side window of her vehicle had been shattered during the overnight hours. A bag containing religious items was stolen.
Suspicious Incident
November 17, 2022 (Harrison Avenue): The resident reported that he was monitoring his home surveillance system while out of state and observed an unknown person in his backyard. The suspect, described as a black male in a grey hooded sweatshirt, was seen walking on the property and damaged the camera mounted on the garage. He did not gain entry into the residence or any vehicles.
Arrests
November 16, 2022 (Bloomfield Avenue): Officers responded to Porta Restaurant on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed employees attempting to remove an unruly patron. Officers attempted to intervene and the suspect became combative and began fighting with officers. A 26 year old male from Cedar Grove, NJ was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Throwing Bodily Fluids at Law Enforcement.
November 20, 2022 (Bloomfield Avenue): A 49 year old male from Newark, NJ was charged with Shoplifting from Merit Fine Wine and Liquors.
