Tennis Court Rules & Guidelines
- Tennis professionals must obtain a valid tennis permit from the Recreation Dept. which allows him/her to teach PRIVATE lessons on Montclair’s public courts.
- A listing of all the Pros who obtained a permit will be available at the Montclair Recreation Department. Names and phone numbers will be given out to anyone inquiring about private lessons.
- Playing Time: Playing Time is restricted to 1 court per hour for everyone and limited to 1 ball hopper only. No player may play longer than 1 hr. when others are waiting for court.
- MRCA tennis court regulations. No private lessons will be permitted during peak times: Sat, Sun, & Holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Montclair Recreation’s tennis program and Montclair Board of Education have first priority with court time.
- No outside camps, groups, or clinics are allowed on Montclair Township courts unless sanctioned by Montclair Recreation Department. Pros are not allowed to have more than 3 people in their class at one time.
- Failure to comply with the Montclair Recreation’s rules and regulations will result in confiscation of the Pros permit and the right to conduct business on our courts.
- Bicycles, Skateboards, rollerblades, street hockey or animals are prohibited from the courts. Also, no food or chairs are allowed on courts.
- No saving courts.
